It's the most wonderful time of the year and the end of an era as Mack Macclaine hosts the hottest holiday special on network television... for his final year. Tune in as this sleigh ride goes off the rails and the drama behind the scenes finds itself center stage. With live music, sketch comedy, and some spectacular singing, this show within a show puts one hell of a spin on the classic Christmas specials that we all know and love. After having oh what fun in the desert last Christmas, the naughty and nutty folks at Good Vibe Cinema decided to revamp the show and spread some holiday cheer back in San Diego at the coolest theater in town - OnStage Playhouse.

'Funky, Funny, Festive, and Fabulous: a Holiday Variety Show' premiered at the iconic Palms Restaurant in Wonder Valley, CA in 2023. With sketch comedy, drag performances, live music, and some truly spectacular singing - we couldn't think of a better way to both send up and celebrate the most wonderful time of the year. It was also a fantastic opportunity to showcase the work of our entire team, and to expand our network by collaborating with all of the fabulous folks at our new favorite venue!

Desperate to Be Seen, Horrified of Being Known: A Ghost Story
LIGHTS UP ON TWO ETHEREAL BEINGS IN A METAPHYSICAL SPACE –
a mattress in the middle of the desert… heaven or hell, depending on who you’re sharing it with. This darkly sensual, hilariously heartbreaking, twisted new comedy thrusts two restless spirits into the afterlife – THE GHOST, a man who lived and died by his reputation, who on the surface did everything right, but had a darkness brewing underneath... and THE GHOUL, a young woman whose absurd glamour reeks of tragic desperation, a little girl who always felt small and in death found a chance to become larger than life. As they discuss love, loss, identity, and regret – and coping with the fact that neither one of them have ever really felt alive – these two deeply complicated people reach their breaking point, as they both come to realize things aren’t what they seem. Voted 'Best Ensemble Show' at the 2023 Tucson Fringe Festival and awarded special recognition as a 'Stand Out Show' at Hi-Desert Fringe, this exciting new one act play stars Michael Simpson as THE GHOST, playwright Vic Terry as THE GHOUL, and features a live original score by Verdell Smith of Soul Ablaze.
Pre-Production
After the untimely death of their mother, Natasha and Coo spend a weekend with their estranged father at the family's cabin. This reunion becomes even more complicated by the presence of their husbands - Jerry (Natasha's former college professor) and Benson (a retired gay porn star). This one act comedy by Vic Terry pushes audiences to rethink their ideas on relationships, artistic integrity, and what it really means to 'make it' in entertainment. While 'Pre-Production' predates the founding of Good Vibe Cinema by a few years, this site specific play staged in 2017 gets an honorable mention - as its themes, aesthetics, and complicated character dynamics laid the foundation for executive producer Vic Terry's current + ongoing creative work.
